Mandala Airlines Stop Operating on Thursday, 13 January 2011

Mandala Airlines will not operate on Thursday, January 13, 2011. However, the government still will discuss problems faced by airline companies, including financial discrepancy in their management.

"In principle, the Mandala will not operate anymore," said Freddy in Jakarta, Wednesday (12/01/2011) after attend a meeting chaired by the Economic Coordinating Minister, Hatta Rajasa and 13 other ministers suddenly. According to Freddy, he does not know the cause of Mandala cease to operate. However, based on information obtained so far from Mandala management, the company was known had financial difficulties.

Freddy didn't know whether these shutdowns will occur, whether permanent or temporary. He was with Mandala management will hold a meeting at the Department of Transportation at around 19:00 tonight. The consequence of these shutdowns, he said, would be a vacuum flight route to a specific destination. Freddy ensure this route will be filled with another airline such as Batavia Air, Lion Air, etc. However,  we see first that route because there may be other airlines suffered," he said. Mandala is also necessary to overcome the loss of people who had booked the flight ticket from the airline.
